So, I watched the following PSA from “Rock the Vote” and after I finished hurling, it got me to thinking — which is always dangerous, but I can’t stop myself. Believe me, I’ve tried. Remember when things like Hanoi Jane Fonda were a one-off? It was a huge deal that was discussed for, literally, decades.
Other celebrities would get drunk or stoned and make a fool of themselves on occasion, causing mass snickering and fervor due, in part, to the novelty of it. Now, it is a daily event! It’s changes …

The other night, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow learned that unrequited love totally hurts and that mindless hero worship, based on nothing tangible, is pretty damn stupid. Yes, Obama is even losing the Left now. I find it even more hilarious than I would otherwise, because, usually when one angers both the left and the right, they are at least pleasing the middle. Not Obama! He is also rapidly losing Independents, according to every latest poll. He truly is a transcendent figure!
Last night, Keith Olbermann gave one of …

No, Virginia, There is NOT a Santa Claus

Finally, something is being done to stop perpetuating the myth of the big, fat, white dude who brings toys to all the “good” kids. “Good” most likely meaning rich, white, male kids. Christmas is SO last century. How exclusionary can you get? Not to mention, Santa himself is a horrible man. Not only does he obviously gorge himself on trans fats and the poison known as corn syrup, but he puts self-esteem diminishing pressure on kids to not be naughty. Last year, Bosnia started fighting back:
Thanks to a rather absurd, …

Follow Me!

I wish I’d known they had these socks before my excruciating trip to the tattoo parlor two nights ago.

I guess my permanent request is better than the socks, though, since I also had my twitter address tattooed right underneath. But since your mom probably won’t let you get a tattoo, you’ll have to settle for the socks. Buy them here.

A Picture Tells A Thousand Words

(CLICK HERE to see my original post on iowntheworld.com )
Pretty sure this Commander In Chief wasn’t concerned about the photo ops. Oh, wait, that’s right – President Bush had even requested that the visit itself remain secret.  He, and his father, are also the only Commanders-In- Chief to visit and spend time with the wounded at Fort Hood.
Funny, what a difference character and a lack of ego make.

I Reviewed Ana Marie Cox’s ‘Going Rogue’ Review, Even Though I Didn’t Read It

Ana Marie Cox is SO Smart, She Doesn’t Even Have to READ Books to Review Them!
The liberal elite are SO Elite-y that reading is actually beneath them. They can simply “sense” enough, with their super smart skills, to pass judgment on things sight unseen!
At least according to the Washington Post and Ana Marie Cox, who reviewed Sarah Palin’s book and admitted she hadn’t read the whole thing. Silly me! I assumed that in order to honestly review a book, one must actually, you know, READ it.
I cannot claim to have …

Obama Engaged to Japan’s Emperor? Another Bow!

Bow-gate Redux! Obama is an embarrassment once again.
Either Obama and Japan’s Emperor are now engaged or Emperor Akihito has made Obama his bitch. No one bows THAT low unless they get an engagement ring out of the deal – or they are, you know, an idiot.
Obama once again proves that he is a subservient nincompoop. The Leader of the Free World does NOT prostrate himself before anyone!!  Dude, seriously.  Obama subjugates himself in front of foreigners, yet calls American citizens ‘tea bags” and sneers at them derisively every chance he …

Rejected Beatles Songs

Few would dispute the tremendous influence the Beatles have had on rock ‘n roll. The soundwriting duo of Lennon and McCartney wrote dozens and dozens of songs that changed the face of music forever. You know the litany of songs: Strawberry Fields Forever, Revolution, Yellow Submarine.
However, songwriting is a hit-and-miss proposition.  And before there was “Back in U.S.S.R.” there were dozens of alternate songs that were discarded along the way.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we give you #RejectedBeatlesSongs. To join in, sign in with your twitter credentials below. Your entry will post …

Bad Luck Movies

In honor of the impending triskaidekaphobic’s holiday, I propose a #badluckmovies hashtag. Just pervert the names of your favorite movies to tweak some sort of bad luck superstition, like “13 Monkeys.” Wow, I’m tapped out already. Good luck with that one!

Obama in Review

FROM ASYLUM.COM
It’s the one-year mark, the anniversary of the election we are told was the most important one ever. (Well come on, they always exaggerate the night before.) But now that we’re in the bright light of day, a quick review of events is in order.

Phase One:
Ahh, January. Literally hundreds of millions of hopebaggers descended upon the National Mall and nearby tunnels to watch each other listen to small radios and TVs broadcasting the inauguration taking place somewhere close. When night fell, and the excitement of our national moment had …
